An-Najah National University Hospital: The First Palestinian Academic Medical Center Accredited by the Joint Commission International for Healthcare Quality (JCI)

In late 2020, NNUH achieved accreditation from the Joint Commission International for Healthcare Quality (JCI), a recognition of its commitment to healthcare standards and the highest levels of patient safety. This commitment revolves around direct patient care and safety, the hospital's administrative system, student training and development, as well as scientific research standards.

It's worth mentioning that the Joint Commission International is an independent, non-profit organization based in the United States, and the "Gold Seal of Approval" from JCI is a highly distinguished quality rating. The Joint Commission International for Healthcare Quality aims to provide quality, leadership, and credibility in the field of healthcare worldwide.

The goal of obtaining the international JCI certification, which healthcare organizations strive to achieve, is to enhance patient safety and the quality of care provided to patients. It reflects the hospital's full commitment to the standards of the International Accreditation Committee. With this step, the hospital becomes one of the most important medical facilities accredited by the committee in the field of healthcare quality, and it is distinguished as the only accredited academic medical center in Palestine.

To earn the JCI Gold Seal, compliance with more than 1,266 standards related to patient safety, either directly or indirectly, is required. This achievement represents a quantum leap and a certificate for the hospital's journey and vision aimed at improving all the services it provides. It aims to maintain the professional performance of the medical, nursing, and technical staff working there and enhance their trust to continue keeping pace with scientific progress and international health development.

According to data and statistics from the International Committee, as of the end of February 2021, the hospital is one of only 82 individual centers worldwide in this category as an academic medical center. NNUH is always committed to providing high-quality medical services to patients, ensuring their safety, promoting academic and research excellence, and continuing the path of success and excellence that has accompanied An-Najah National University's journey over the past decades.
