General Surgery Clinics

The General Surgery Department at An-Najah National University Hospital provides comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical services for a wide range of surgical conditions.

Services include clinical assessment, diagnosis, preoperative preparation, surgical interventions, perioperative care, and postoperative follow-up, delivered by a specialized medical team covering various areas of general surgery and specialized surgical fields.

Available Services and Surgical Procedures

• Emergency and Acute Care Surgery
  24-hour emergency surgical services for acute surgical conditions requiring urgent assessment and intervention.

• Day Surgery
  Minor and intermediate surgical procedures that do not require hospital admission, with appropriate postoperative care.

• Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery
  A range of procedures using laparoscopic techniques, including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, selected intestinal and colorectal procedures, hernia repair, and selected bariatric procedures.

• Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery
  Specialized surgical and endoscopic management of conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

• Gastrointestinal Surgery and Endoscopy
  Diagnosis and treatment of surgical conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, and anorectal region, along with appropriate endoscopic procedures.

• Breast Surgery and Reconstruction
  Diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases and tumors, including tumor excision and breast reconstruction using various techniques, such as flaps, implants, and silicone, according to the individual case.

• Endocrine Surgery
  Surgical procedures involving endocrine glands, including the thyroid, salivary glands, adrenal glands, and lymph nodes.

• Surgical Oncology
  Assessment and diagnosis of tumor-related surgical conditions in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and tumor board, followed by surgical tumor excision and reconstruction when required.

• Hernia Surgery and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction
  Treatment of various types of hernias, including complex cases, as well as abdominal wall reconstruction, particularly for cases resulting from complications or previous surgical procedures.

• Pediatric Surgery
  Surgical services for children from newborns to 14 years of age, including the management of congenital anomalies, hernias, tumors, injuries, and accidents.

• Plastic, Reconstructive, and Burn Surgery
  Specialized surgical services including burn treatment and skin grafting, hand and peripheral nerve surgery, tissue reconstruction, body contouring following weight loss or bariatric surgery, and the treatment and excision of certain skin cancers with reconstruction when required.
  
  Surgical Clinic Services
  The General Surgery Clinics provide clinical assessment of surgical conditions, development of appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans, preoperative preparation, and postoperative follow-up, in addition to selected minor procedures performed in the clinic, including:

• Skin biopsy.

• Wound cleaning and dressing.

• Postoperative wound dressing and follow-up.
