Turkish Higher Education has granted Professor Mahmoud Matar, a specialist in kidney and urology surgery at An-Najah National University Hospital, the professorship degree in kidney and urology surgery, in recognition of his outstanding academic and professional performance. Professor Matar has been a faculty member at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at An-Najah National University since 2011. He is also the founder of the Department of Kidney and Urology Surgery at NNUH, which is considered one of the most distinguished and successful departments in the country and the region.
A Brief Overview of Professor Mahmoud Matar: Professor Matar has spent over twenty years working in Turkey, Egypt, and the United States, at some of the most renowned academic institutions and hospitals. He has achieved numerous remarkable academic and practical accomplishments, including being a visiting scientist at the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas in Houston, USA. He is also a scholar of the International Society of Urologic Oncology at Ghoneim Kidney and Transplant Center at Mansoura University in Egypt. Professor Matar is a prominent figure in the field of kidney and urology surgery, with over 200 scientific studies and many surgical innovations to his name. He has received multiple international and research awards, including the Ghoneim Award for Surgical Innovation in the Arab world. He has organized and participated in numerous scientific, social, and cultural conferences and events, including chairing the 4th An-Najah Medical Conference in cooperation with Turkish associations. He has also served as the head of the organizing committee for the Palestine Conference during the Ottoman era, secretary of the 2nd Cancer Surgery Conference, and a member of various conferences and associations, including the Eurasian Society of Urologic Oncology, the Arab School of Urology, the Scientific Committee of the Arab Association of Urologists, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Association of Urologists (2013-2023), President of the Graduates of Turkey Association in Palestine (2017-2023), and an active member of various Arab, European, Turkish, American, and international urology associations. It's worth mentioning that Turkish Higher Education had previously awarded Dr. Matar the Associate Professorship degree.
