An-Najah National University Hospital has obtained the accredited conformity certificate for its medical laboratories from the Palestinian Accreditation Unit, in accordance with the international reference standard "ISO 15189". These are international standards that demonstrate the efficiency and integrity of laboratories in healthcare institutions and are developed and updated by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
Obtaining this accreditation requires compliance with all technical and administrative requirements by the hospital's medical laboratories. These include identifying and assessing risks, providing preventive measures to minimize errors that may occur in laboratories, ensuring the competence of staff through assessment and training, establishing a quality management system and continuous improvement, evaluating measurement uncertainties, ensuring the effectiveness of devices and laboratory equipment used, and ensuring the quality of pre-examination processes, which include the process of collecting test samples, transporting them, receiving and rejecting them, ensuring the quality of analytical process results, including selecting and verifying measurement methods and proving their effectiveness, and ensuring the validity of the results and the accuracy of the reports issued.
The importance of this achievement lies in increasing confidence in the results of medical laboratory testing and measurement and implementing them according to internationally recognized references, thereby increasing patient and client satisfaction with the laboratory services provided.
