Ex-prisoner Maher El-Akrass "Abu Islam" was received by An-Najah National University Hospital on the morning of Thursday, November 26, 2020, after being transferred from other hospitals in the area. The medical team at the hospital assessed Maher's condition and conducted several medical tests to determine his health status.

Maher left the hospital in the afternoon and returned to his home.
